As experienced florists, we've picked up a wide range of techniques to keep flowers looking their best for longer. We're happy to share some tips:

Making your flowers last longer

Change the water in the vase every two days
Keep the flowers in a cool place and on a waterproof surface
Mist-spray the arrangement daily
Remove any foliage near the bottom of the stem, prior to immersing it in water

Care for the roses in your bouquet

Roses are one of the most delicate flowers and need special care and attention in order to prolong their life. If the heads of the roses are drooping, re-cut the stems taking a good 5 cms off. Then place them in a vase of deep cold water. Wrapping the roses in damp paper for a few hours will help.

Flower arrangements

Here are a few ways in which you can arrange your flowers:

Remove the packaging
Add a sachet of flower food
Remove the foliage from the stem and cut approximately 3 cms off the stem at a slant
Place the flowers in a clean vase with fresh water available

Hand tied arrangement

Do not untie the strings around the flowers

Hand tied aqua pack

Your aqua pack may be left in its own bubble of water for a few days. Top-up the water at regular intervals. Take the pack to a sink and pour the water into the cellophane bubble using a jug. Always stand your aqua on a tray or waterproof surface. After a day or two remove the packaging and follow the instructions for the hand tied arrangement.
